Azerbaijan increased production of hydro and heat energy

In January-November of this year, Azerbaijan’s hydroelectric power stations produced 2 billion 720.2 million kilowatt-hours of electricity.

According to information, this is 1 billion 132.4 million kilowatt-hours (71.3 percent) more than the corresponding period last year.

During the reporting period, thermal power plants produced 20 billion 261.3 million kilowatt-hours of electricity, which is 2 billion 126.2 million kilowatt-hours (9.5 percent) less than in the same period last year.

Moreover, in the first 11 months of this year, 182.8 million kilowatt-hours of electricity were produced by burning waste. According to the information, this is 5.8 percent more than for the same period in 2023.

It should be noted that in January-November of this year, about 24 billion 360.2 million kilowatt-hours of electricity were produced in Azerbaijan, which is 572.1 million kilowatt-hours (2.3 percent) less than in 11 months of last year. In general, in the field of production, distribution and supply of electricity, gas and steam in the country in January-November 2024, products were produced and services were provided in the amount of 2,789.7 million manat.
