Azerbaijani screenwriter Nargiz Bagirzadeh was included in the long list of the Golden Eagle award, established by the National Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences of Russia, in the category “Best Screenplay” with the script of the full-length feature film “Baby”. The film “Baby,” based on the script by Nargiz Bagirzade, was released in Russia in February, and in October it was first shown in Azerbaijan at the Baku International Film Festival, where it received a special jury prize.
Nargiz Bagirzade is a graduate of VGIK, the screenwriting workshop of Rustam Ibragimbekov. Since 2023, she has also been the program director of the Salam International Youth Film Festival in Azerbaijan.
The plot of the film “Baby” centers on the relationship between 18-year-old Dasha and her mother, who abandoned her as a child. To get a chance to become a daughter and mother, the heroines go through a difficult emotional path full of trials.
