As part of the provincial action plan intended to mitigate the effects of the cold wave, local authorities have prioritized interventions in isolated areas in order to restore traffic on blocked roads, in particular the road linking Azilal to Aït Bouguemaz and that going from Zaouiat Ahensal to the summits of the mountains of Tillougite, Imsfrane and Ait M’hamed.
Vigilance committees were also activated at the local level to monitor operations to open up, clear snow and reopen roads, he noted, noting that these actions are carried out in collaboration. with the provincial Directorate of Equipment and the municipalities affected by snowfall. Mr. Essofi also stressed that regular meetings are organized under the chairmanship of the governor of the province to coordinate these efforts.
It should be remembered that the fleet of machines deployed in the province in anticipation of snowfall includes graders, backhoe loaders, loaders and snow plows.
The provincial action plan to mitigate the effects of the cold wave, put in place to limit the potential damage caused by weather disturbances, identified 397 douars spread across 25 local authorities in the province of Azilal.
The snowfall that fell on the province reached between 15 and 30 cm, particularly in municipalities located at an altitude of more than 1,700 m.
