Azerbaijani wrestlers retain their chances for medals in each of the 4 weight categories. Three of them will try their hand at the finals, and one will try their hand at the repechage match.

Our three-time world champion Eldeniz Azizli took to the mat for the next title. He fought with Iranian wrestler Poya Marza to make history in Azerbaijan. Eldeniz won the gold medal at the World Championships for the 4th time, winning on the quality of points (1:1).

Nikhat Mammadli defeated Kazakh Erzhet Zharlikassin in the final with a score of 6:1.

Ulvi Ghanizadeh will challenge the gold medal in a duel with Frenchman Ibrahim Ghanem.

Gurban Gurbanov will fight with Uzbekistan’s Zhalgasbai Berdimuratov in a repechage match.
