Surya Prakash Shukla, Lucknow: Organized crime may have ended in Uttar Pradesh, but the youth of remote villages here are tarnishing the reputation of UP by carrying out major incidents as shooters at the behest of the mafia in other states. This is not the first incident of involvement of shooters from UP in the murder of Baba Siddiqui in Mumbai. Even before this, underworld people have been using the youth of UP as shooters in other states by luring them with money. Not only this, shooters from Uttar Pradesh were also involved in the murder of the powerful MP Dilshad Mirza in Nepal.

In Mumbai, in the 90s, underworld don Dawood had killed four people of Arun Gawli, admitted in JJ Hospital, Mumbai, to avenge the murder of his brother-in-law. The name of Brijesh Singh came up in this murder case, who later became the mafia don of UP. In 1993, Dawood got Assistant Custom Collector LD Arora murdered in Allahabad (now Prayagraj) through Om Prakash Srivastava Bablu, who emerged from UP.
While posted in Mumbai, LD Arora had intercepted Dawood’s arms consignment. This sensational murder was committed by Bablu along with his UP colleagues Kamal Saini and Manjeet Singh Mange. Bablu carried out many sensational kidnappings and murders in many states of the country through shooters from UP.
At the same time, through the fast-rising shooter Shriprakash Shukla and his associates in Purvanchal, Bihar’s mafia don Suraj Bhan was accused of getting the sensational murder of Lalu government minister Brij Bihari Prasad in Bihar.
Hashim Baba’s shooter
Last month itself, Delhi Police along with UP STF had arrested two youths from Khatauli, Muzaffarnagar. According to STF, both the youths were the shooters of notorious gangster Hashim Baba lodged in Delhi jail.
Lawrence Bishnoi’s UP partner
The connections of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi gang, who took responsibility for the Baba Siddiqui murder case, are very deep in UP. Sunny Kakran, resident of Kankarkheda, Meerut and Atul Jat, resident of Incholi, are lodged in Delhi jail. According to police records, both of them were the shooters of Lawrence Bishnoi. Earlier, when NIA arrested Vikas Devgarh of Ayodhya in UP, he revealed his closeness to Lawrence Bishnoi.
Early last year, two shooters of Lawrence gang were seen in Ayodhya. The buzz then was that this shooter had reached Ayodhya to commit some major crime. However, due to alertness of security agencies, the shooters could not succeed in their plan.
