There has been some disappointing news related to 5G services for more than 70 crore users of Jio and Airtel. A recent report by Opensignal has revealed that when both the companies launched their 5G network services in 2022, they had promised fast speeds of up to 1 Gbps, but now users are getting much lower speeds. At that time it was on average 300 Mbps to 400 Mbps.
As more people have started using 5G, problems like network congestion have started emerging. Due to the increase in the number of 5G users and availability of unlimited data plans, people are using the internet more than before, which has had a negative impact on the speed.
The report showed that only 16 percent of 5G users are using the less congested 700 MHz frequency, while 84 percent of users are using the 3.5 GHz band, which is more congested. Currently, Airtel users are getting speeds of around 240 Mbps, while Jio users are getting an average speed of 225 Mbps.
This report by Opensignal covers data from June to August, which includes major telecom companies like Airtel, Jio and others, while Vodafone-Idea and BSNL are still in the trial phase.
Airtel’s strategy includes using mid-band spectrum to better manage network traffic. Both companies are moving towards new technology, which will rely less on the old 4G network, which will give users a better and faster experience in the future.
BSNL 5G-
Talking about BSNL, the company is continuously working on new networks. For this, BSNL’s network is in the trial phase. Right now work on this is also going on. However, everything has been cleared in the trial.
