On August 25, RA SRC Chairman Rustam Badasyan received the delegation led by Hojatollah Abdolmaleki, Advisor to the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Secretary of the Supreme Council of Free Zones of Iran, the organization informs.

The message states:

“During the meeting, the parties discussed a number of issues aimed at the further development of bilateral cooperation. In particular, they addressed the mechanisms aimed at the quick and efficient solution of the problems arising between Meghri-Norduz border checkpoints, the possibility of zeroing the duty for trucks entering the country, as well as the issues of making the process of electronic exchange of information more realistic.

Advisor to the President of Iran, Secretary of the Supreme Council of Free Zones, Hojatollah Abdolmaleki emphasized the importance of close cooperation between the customs authorities of the Republic of Armenia and the Islamic Republic of Iran, in the context of promoting mutual trade and increasing the volume of goods turnover between the two countries, as well as the development of Armenian-Iranian economic cooperation.

As a result of the discussion, an agreement was reached to consistently continue working meetings in order to record objective results.

At the end of the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their mutual willingness to expand Armenian-Iranian cooperation in the customs sector.
