Baku residents visited the cinema festival

The cinema festival “New generation, new breath, new look” (Yeni nəsil, yeni nəfəs, yeni nəzər) was held at the Nizami Cinema Center, organized by the Union of Cinematographers of Azerbaijan, Day.Az reports.

The guests were presented with short feature films by our young directors – “Red color of the second planet” (İkinci planetin qırmızı rəngi) by Azer Guliyev, “Away” (Uzaq) by Daniel Guliyev, “Two days” (İki gün) by Teymur Gambarov, “It’s still quiet here” (Burada hələlik sakitlikdir) Novruz Hikmet.

Before the screening of the films, a musical program was organized, actors, directors and filmmakers could warmly communicate with each other, discuss projects, and share plans for the future.

The evening was moderated by film critic Sevda Sultanova, and after the screenings there was a discussion between the creative teams and the audience.

Films by Azer Guliyev and Teymur Gambarov, dedicated to the 44-day Patriotic War, were shot within the framework of the “Big Return” (Böyük qayıdış) project of the Ministry of Culture of Azerbaijan.

The action of the film “The Red Color of the Second Planet” by Azer Guliyev takes place against the backdrop of ongoing hostilities, when the main character Musa is faced with that mysterious unity, without which he would not have found himself and his freedom. This is where his past, his experiences and his future begin…

The film “Two Days” by Teimur Gambarov tells about two days in the life of a small family during the 44-day Patriotic War – the father secretly volunteers for the front, and 22-year-old Fira not only tries to cope with her emotions, but also helps her mother…

The film “It’s Still Silence Here” by Novruz Hikmet shows the horrors of war against the backdrop of the attitude of a young couple and their view of the events taking place. They spent the night in a hotel room near where the war began. That night their true feelings and thoughts are revealed when, lost in their own world, they do not understand how the morning comes and it’s time to make an important decision…

The film “Away” by Daniel Guliyev shows the coldness and disdain of loved ones for each other. Elnur lives alone in Baku and receives treatment. His older brother comes to Baku in search of work and settles with Elnur. Teaming up with completely different characters turns out to be strangers…
