The survey of private sector specialists prepared by the Bank of Mexico (Banxico) revealed a deterioration in economic growth expectations for 2024 for the sixth consecutive month.

He explained that now a growth of the GDP of 1.46% according to the median.

For 2025, the estimate of expected GDP growth fell for the fourth consecutive month to 1.20%.

Among the factors that hinder the economic growth In Mexico, governance ranked first, with 58% responding in September, up from 57% the previous month.

In second place were the internal economic conditions and in third place were the external conditions.

Regarding the inflation expectation at the end of 2024, it fell from 4.64% to 4.44% annually, due to an improvement in the inflation outlook, while the inflation expectation for 2025 remained unchanged at 3.80%.

Finally, regarding the interest rate, the expectation fell from 10.25% to 10.00% at the end of 2024, which would imply two cuts of 25 basis points to the Banxico interest rate before the end of the year.

If the projections of the September survey are fulfilled for the rest of the six-year term, and taking into account the growth observed in the first five years, Mexico would be growing 5.10% with AMLO.
