Batken residents are happy – Orunbekov responded to criticism about the poor quality of houses built

by time news

The head of the presidential press service, Daiyrbek Orunbekov, said that residents of the Batken region are satisfied with the quality of the houses built for them. Orunbekov wrote this under the post of human rights activist Gulgaka Mamasaliyeva, who criticized the quality of the houses.

The official asked why activists are not looking for the good in what happens in Kyrgyzstan and stated that there is a limit to empty talk and negativity.

“Can you rate the quality of houses? The owners of the houses are satisfied with the quality and say that their walls used to be built of clay, but now they are built of brick and concrete. There is a limit to chatter and the creation of negativity,” wrote Orunbekov.

Earlier, Mamasaliyeva wrote that Orunbekov calls NGO workers liars when they point out the poor quality of houses built for Batken residents.

As a result of the armed conflict on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border in September 2022, 63 Kyrgyzstanis were killed and hundreds of houses were destroyed.

The material damage to Kyrgyzstan due to the clashes is estimated at 3 billion 130 million soms. The authorities promised to restore the houses to the local residents, and build new ones instead of the destroyed ones, promising to finish before the winter comes. But the completion date has been pushed back several times. The last time the head of the Cabinet of Ministers, Akylbek Japarov, promised to complete the construction of all the remaining houses during March.

Despite this, builders complain that they have not been paid salaries for months, and local residents complain about the quality of the houses built.
