China‘s Ministry of Commerce has issued a warning to the European Union against holding separate price negotiations with some companies involved in the China-Europe electric vehicle trade. As Day.Az reports, TASS writes about this with reference to the department’s statement.
“If the European side, in consultation with the Chinese side, conducts separate negotiations on price obligations with some enterprises, this will undermine the foundation of dialogue and mutual trust,” the Chinese Ministry of Commerce said in a statement.
According to the Chinese side, such actions by Brussels will “create obstacles” to the progress of consultations. Beijing calls on the EU to “fully demonstrate sincerity” and reach a solution acceptable to all parties based on ongoing negotiations.
The ministry stressed that Chinese companies have authorized the chamber of commerce to put forward a price commitment proposal that reflects the position of the entire industry. This, according to Beijing, is the basis for ongoing bilateral consultations.
