A vaccine against caries is being developed in Belarus. The chief freelance dentist of the Ministry of Health, rector of BSMU, corresponding member of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, Professor Sergei Rubnikovich spoke about this.
“We are trying to create a drug, a vaccine, that would prevent the proliferation of microorganisms that cause dental caries and prevent these microorganisms from attaching to the hard tissue of the tooth,” he said.
Let us remind you that earlier in Belarus they announced the creation of a “vaccine against binge drinking.” And at the end of 2023, the Ministry of Health announced the completion of clinical trials of the domestic vaccine against COVID-19.
