Munnar – 19 months ago, a couple came to Munnar from Belgium in their own caravan. Lorenzo (42) and his wife Dr. Mariam (40), natives of Belgium, reached Munnar yesterday morning as part of the visit. Lorenzo is a painting worker. His wife is a doctor at a private hospital in Kelmia. Both started their journey from Belgium in a caravan they bought 19 months ago.
Both of them came to India after visiting countries like Germany, Switzerland, Greece, Bulgaria, Turkey, Georgia, Armenia and Pakistan. They have already visited most of the states of India. The couple said they will return to Belgium from India on February 13 after visiting. Both travel in a caravan with bedroom, bathroom and kitchen facilities.
Overnight rest is done by stopping the vehicle near fuel pumps in major towns. He cooked his own food and ate it. Both said that there were some restrictions on going out in some countries during the Covid period, but there was no hindrance to travel.
