Parliament spokesman Abdullah Belhaq denied that any media organization had issued any statement about the closure of the Ras al-Jadir crossing.

Belhiq said on his Facebook page: “We deny the issuance of any statement by us regarding the closure of the Ras Jedir crossing, as well as the political track and the UN mission of any media organization, so we must be alerted.”

Belhaq showed pictures of a group of media outlets that reported the news through his words, denying the authenticity of any of them.

Tunisian Radio Mosaique had quoted a Tunisian security source as saying that security forces stationed at the Ras Jedir crossing on the Libyan side, belonging to the municipality of Zuwara, stopped transit traffic in both directions on Tuesday evening.

The security source stated that the Libyan side called on anyone wishing to enter Tunisia or Libya to go to the Dhiba-Wazin crossing. According to the same source, the decision also includes Libyan ambulances and Tunisians returning from Libya.

Radio Mosaique reported that the Ras Jedir border crossing witnessed the concentration of various Tunisian security and military formations along the entire border strip, with calm recorded on the Libyan side.

It is noteworthy that the Ras Jedir border crossing between Libya and Tunisia witnessed a state of tension, causing it to be closed since last Monday.

The Ministry of Interior in the National Unity Government said at the time that “outlaws attacked the Ras Jedir border crossing with Tunisia, which witnesses a large influx of Libyans who often head to Tunisia to receive medical treatment and trucks loaded with goods coming in the opposite direction.”
