In this edition of the program, the defined target market is the United States, with emphasis on the west coast, due to the characteristics of consumers, which provides an ideal scenario for Ecuadorian companies to expand their presence.

This project was based on a project of the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA) and the Consortium of Provincial Governments of Ecuador (Congope), which was joined by the Ministry of Production, Foreign Trade, Investment and Fisheries (Mpceip) in order to define an optimal international market to support provincial autonomous governments in the management of product and brand positioning. Likewise, it is developed in alliance with the National Association of Food and Beverage Manufacturers (ANFAB), Agrocalidad and the Inter-American Commission on Organic Agriculture (CIAO).

Through ProEcuador, we started with an analysis of 169 MSMEs from the base of the Global Bioexporter 2024 program, of which 17 companies will be beneficiaries after meeting preparation criteria to export. The next step is to prepare them by strengthening their capabilities with hybrid training on the topics of markets, labeling, regulations, certifications, logistics, export prices and effective participation in promotional events.

The program lasts 5 months and provides for product testing with the North American community residing in Quito, on October 1, 2024. It also includes participation in the Virtual Business Roundtable to be held on October 17, 2024 and consists in previously scheduled meetings with buyers of the food segment for the west coast of the United States.
The final step is participation in the Guayaquil Macrorrueda, which will take place from November 11 to 13, 2024 and consists of promoting triple diversification (products, destinations and actors), through the generation of contacts in international markets.
