New Delhi: The BJP has emerged as the richest party in the country. This information is contained in the property records of national and local political parties in the country. The report, released by The Association of Democratic Reforms (ADR), covers the fiscal year 2019–20. According to reports, the BJP has assets worth Rs 4,847.78 crore.

Mayawati’s BSP, which is ranked second, is around Rs 4,150 crore. BSP has assets worth Rs 698.33 crore. The Congress is in third place with assets worth Rs 588.16 crore. The CPM (569.51 crore), the Trinamool Congress (247.78 crore), the CPI (29.78 crore) and the NCP (8.20 crore) are in the next position.

The ADR report contains information on 7 national parties and 44 regional parties. National parties have total assets of Rs 6,988.57 crore. The BJP alone has 69.37 per cent of the assets. The BSP owns 9.99 per cent of the total assets and the Congress 8.42 per cent. BJP (3,253 crore), BSP (618.86 crore), Congress (240.90 crore), CPM (199.56 crore), Trinamool Congress (1.25 crore), CPI (15.63 crore) ) And the NCP (1.86 crore).

Regional parties have assets worth Rs 2,129.38 crore. The Socialist Party is the richest of the regional parties; 563.47 crores. In second place is the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS); 301.47 crore. Anna DMK is in the third position with assets worth Rs 267.61 crore. 76.99 per cent of the assets of regional parties are fixed deposits.
