New Delhi: The BJP is likely to retain Uttarakhand in the states where elections are to be held next year, according to an India News-Jan Ki Baat poll. According to the survey, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will be the largest single party in Punjab. The survey predicts that UP and BJP will win even if there are less than 100 seats.

The BJP is projected to win 35 to 38 seats in Uttarakhand’s 70 – member assembly. The Congress will win 27 to 31 seats. The Aam Aadmi Party will win six seats. The survey predicts that the Aam Aadmi Party will win 50–57 of the 117 seats in Punjab, while the Congress will win 40–46, the Shiromani Akali Dal 16–21 and the BJP 0–4.

In Uttarakhand, the BJP is projected to get 39 per cent of the vote, followed by the Congress with 38.2 per cent and the AAP with 11.7 per cent. In Punjab, the Aam Aadmi Party is projected to get 37.80 per cent of the vote, the Congress 34.70 per cent, the BJP 5 per cent and the Shiromani Akali Dal 20.5 per cent.
