To celebrate the best of everything: The spy series “Black doves” with Keira Knightley and Ben Whishaw is based on the highlights of the genre. This is not a recommendation.

Between contract murder and tea parties with Tory wives: Keira Knightley in “Black Doves”

When the Christmas trees flash in the background on the screen, the audience knows: everything will be fine again on Christmas Eve. The most famous example of a Christmas action film die hard by Bruce Willis. John mcclane had to clear a tall building full of thugs before he was finally allowed to go to his party, and he had a bad idea but reconciled with his ex-wife.
In the Netflix series Black Doves Christmas decorations are also twinkling everywhere, especially in Helen and Wallace Webb’s stately London home. Wallace (Andrew Buchan) is Defense Secretary in a Conservative government and his wife Helen (Keira Knightley), well, not like she is. Disguised as the wife of a clever politician, she regularly passes facts to the secret Black Doves organization. The group has no political agenda, but pragmatically sells government secrets to the highest bidder.
