And the spring auctions of Blindarte arrive in Naples and Milan, a well-established appointment for fans of modern and contemporary art or ancient paintings, antique furnishings, jewelry and design. On Tuesday 25 May, starting at 5.00 pm, at the Neapolitan headquarters of Blindarte, auction 98 of Furniture and Works of Art, Old Paintings, 19th-20th Century Paintings and Jewelery will be held.


The catalog offers in the first part a rich selection of important furnishings and art objects, including a rare pair of Capodimonte porcelain candelabra modeled by Giuseppe Gricci from the first half of the 18th century, a splendid terracotta sculpture attributed to Giuseppe Picano depicting San Giuseppe col Bambino, as well as a varied collection of Castelli and Deruta majolica from private Neapolitan collections. A real gem for Bourbon collectors is the model for the sculpture of the Head of the young Charles III of Bourbon (estimate € 12,000 / 15,000), a unique and unpublished piece.

Following, for the section dedicated to ancient paintings, a refined selection of works of different genre, style and origin will be presented, which will allow the public of collectors and art lovers, more and more demanding, to travel through the centuries and areas. geographic. Among these stands the Judgment of Solomon attributed to Mattia Preti, a work declared to be of interest to the national historical-artistic heritage by the Ministry for Cultural Heritage and Activities. The catalog closes with an important selection of jewels, with objects of particular manufacture and value, including a beautiful diamond ring and a vintage Chimento necklace in yellow gold with diamonds and rubies.

In the auction 99 of Modern and Contemporary Art + DESIGN on 27 May, starting from 6 pm, works of great interest for the most international collecting will be exhibited.

Among the works is without a doubt Riflesso: a five-part painting for two walls, important site work and significant work of Daniel Buren made in 1980 and characterized by its famous vertical bands of 8.7 cm each, in this case blue and white, created on 5 canvases to be installed on the wall with a distance that varies according to the space. The work in fact adapts to the walls: starting from the corner (central element) the installation of the work involves the incorporation of the already short wall and then for the same size of the other wall, with a variable dimension depending on the space in which the work is installed. A section of the catalog will instead be dedicated to the works of Jan Fabre, multiple award-winning Belgian artist, one of the most innovative and versatile of his kind.
