The United States continues to support negotiations with both Azerbaijan and Armenia.
As Day.Az reports, First Deputy Press Secretary of the US State Department Vedant Patel said this at a briefing.
He noted that US Secretary of State Antony Blinken is personally involved in these issues.
“This is a region that the Secretary himself is personally deeply involved with. During his tenure, he regularly communicated with Azerbaijan and Armenia, and our engagement with both countries continues. We believe that peace is possible, and we are going to continue to work towards that.” Patel added.
It should be noted that on April 28, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken called the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev. Expressing his country’s intention to strengthen bilateral ties between the United States and Azerbaijan, Secretary of State Antony Blinken noted issues of cooperation in the energy, climate, transport spheres, and in the field of COP29. President Ilham Aliyev, in turn, also emphasized that Azerbaijan is interested in developing bilateral ties with the United States.
