BNP Leader Salahuddin Ahmed Returning to Bangladesh After 9 Years
BNP Standing Committee member Salahuddin Ahmed is set to return to Bangladesh in the next two to three days after almost nine years in exile. He is currently residing in Shillong, India.
His wife, Hasina Ahmed, confirmed the information on Thursday afternoon.
Salahuddin has been living in Shillong since 2015, when he mysteriously disappeared from Dhaka and was later found in Meghalaya, India. He was accused of trespassing and spent time in custody before being acquitted in 2018. However, he was unable to return to Bangladesh due to various complications.
Prior to his disappearance, Salahuddin was a prominent figure in the BNP party and served as a state minister. His return to Bangladesh is a significant event for the party and its supporters.
