Bolshoi, scenography collapses: actor dies on stage

A 37-year-old actor, Yevgeny Kulesh, was crushed to death by the fall of a piece of scenography during a show at the Bolshoi Theater in Moscow. The famous theater confirmed this tonight, after the spectators had told what happened on social media. An investigation into the affair was opened and the show was canceled.

The incident occurred during the folk opera Sadko “by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov, while the scenography was being changed. The show was interrupted and the spectators were asked to leave the hall. On Telegram some present said they had initially thought to a stage trick, but then to have understood the tragic reality when someone on stage shouted: “Call the ambulance, there is blood”.
