According to company representatives, part of these activities will be monitored by the Food and Veterinary Service (PVD).

In order to ensure that the food is delivered intact from the catering company to the user, “Bolt Food” will provide its cooperation partners with stickers for sealing the food package free of charge during the campaign. After the end of the campaign, catering companies will be able to buy stickers from “Bolt” or clip the food packaging, according to company officials.

On the other hand, in order to promote compliance with hygiene requirements among couriers, the company will carry out regular inspections in catering establishments, making sure of both the couriers’ hygiene and the condition of the delivery bags, the company informs.

The manager of “Bolt Food” in Latvia, Kristaps Purvinskis, says that every partner courier must familiarize himself with the company’s rules when registering on the platform, and he must also confirm that he is familiar with the hygiene requirements mentioned in the rules, which the company plans to highlight as a separate point soon.

Purvinskis points out that the company regularly reviews all ratings and comments about couriers left by customers, catering companies and users of social networks to ensure quality, and in the event that one of them reports a violation, including non-compliance with hygiene requirements, inspections are carried out.

“In practice, violations rarely occur and, depending on their severity, the partner courier may be warned or completely blocked from the company’s platform,” informs Purvinskis.

It has already been reported that at the beginning of October, the Minister of Agriculture Armands Krauze (ZZS) urged PVD to pay more attention and promptly submit proposals for improving consumer protection when receiving services from food delivery companies
