BOLZANO. Yesterday afternoon, around 6.30pm, a call came to the Police Headquarters Operations Center, via the emergency number “112 NUE”, for a report of a nuisance individual in Piazza Ziller.

The Flying Squad crews of the State Police, who arrived at the reported location within a few moments, immediately proceeded to check an individual who, when asked to show an identification document, immediately appeared very aggressive, starting to rant and spit repeatedly. in the direction of the company car.

Verbally scolded by the police, the man became even more furious, shouting in a threatening tone incomprehensible phrases in Arabic, while quickly undressing himself, showing his private parts to the officers.

Given the foreigner’s anger and considering that the square was full of passers-by, who watched in fear, it was decided to put him in a position not to cause harm and to accompany him to the police headquarters.

Here the criminal lashed out at one of the policemen, trying to head him. Despite the presence of 4 police officers, the subject was not at all intimidated – later identified as this CM, a 25-year-old Tunisian citizen holding the status of political refugee, well known to the Police Forces as he has been convicted for numerous crimes of the same nature, as well as for crimes against person and assets – he forcefully insisted on struggling, trying to hit them all with headbutts, kicks, bites and spit, finally managing to injure one of them, who was visited in the emergency room and discharged with a recovery prognosis of 10 days

In consideration of what happened, the criminal was arrested for the crimes of resistance and violence against a public official and aggravated injuries; therefore, at the end of the Judicial Police proceedings, CM was held in the Security Rooms of the Police Headquarters available to the Public Prosecutor’s Office.

The police commissioner of the Autonomous Province of Bolzano Paolo Sartori, therefore, in consideration of the gravity of what happened and the precedents against him, immediately urged the competent Territorial Commission for Refugees to order the revocation of the international protection status granted to CM, to in order to be able to issue an Expulsion Decree from the National Territory against him.

“Another attack against a Police Officer during an intervention, yet another one that has occurred in recent times in Bolzano – Commissioner Sartori highlighted with regret -. It is unacceptable that those who represent the State, in enforcing the law, should systematically suffer insults and violence. For this reason it was decided to arrest those who repeatedly demonstrated, even violently, that they did not respect laws and institutions.”
