The risk of Guillin-Barre syndrome increased by 2 times

– The study also revealed that the risk of transverse myelitis and ADEM increased by 1.9 and 3.9 times, respectively, after receiving the first dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine.
– Bell’s palsy, which causes temporary weakness or paralysis of the muscles on one side of the face, increased by 1.05 after the first dose of the Pfizer vaccine.
– The risk of seizures was 1.3 to 1.4 times higher after the first and second doses of the Moderna vaccine and the fourth doses of the Pfizer vaccine.
The researchers added caution to this finding:
“The chance of experiencing a neurological event following acute SARS-CoV-2 infection was 617 times higher than after COVID vaccination; “This suggests that the benefits of vaccination significantly outweigh the risks.”
– After the first dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine, the risk of Cerebral Venous Sinus Thrombosis (CVST) was 3.2 times higher than expected.
– The risks after the first dose and second dose of the Pfizer vaccine were 1.49 and 1.25 times higher, respectively.
– CVST is a rare but serious condition after the AstraZeneca vaccine, characterized by the formation of blood clots in the large channels that take blood from the brain and return it to the heart. While a total of 21 cases were expected, 69 cases were observed. So the results were more than expected.
