New Delhi: The BSF has arrested one Bangladeshi and three Indian nationals in two separate cases along the Bangladesh-India border in West Bengal. In one of these cases, a citizen of Bangladesh was trying to enter India from Bangladesh with the help of an Indian broker. Whereas in the second case, two Indians were trying to transport 93 bottles of cough syrup from India to Bangladesh.

In the first case, BSF said that at 9:55 pm on March 23, BSF’s North Bengal Frontier in Siliguri sector of West Bengal caught two people from the border while illegally entering India from Bangladesh. Among them, one is a citizen of Bangladesh and the other is an Indian citizen. BSF said that among the arrested accused, a Bangladeshi citizen has been identified as Kishore Kumar Basak and an Indian citizen has been identified as Ramesh Mal Pahari. Both of them were caught by BSF at that time. When they were trying to enter India by crossing the border from Bangladesh. Two mobile phones, Rs 3,000, 100 Bangladeshi Taka and other items have been seized from them. They have been handed over to Kotwali police station for further investigation.

In the second case, at 2:50 am on March 23-24, two Indian citizens were caught by BSF in Raiganj sector of North Bengal Frontier. They have been identified as Santo Das and P Mandal. Both are residents of West Bengal. 93 bottles of cough syrup have been seized from them. Whom they were trying to take from India to Bangladesh. A wire cutter, four mobile phones and other items have been seized from them.
