The Democratic Party of Guinea – African Democratic Rally (PDG-RDA) wishes to express its disapproval and total disassociation from the remarks recently made by Comrade Oyé Beavogui, Interim Secretary General of the party, against the National Committee of the Rally for Development.
In articles published online, notably on the Avenir Guinée website, Comrade Oyé Beavogui made comments that we consider to be unilateral and not representative of the official position of the PDG-RDA. These statements were in no way discussed or agreed with the party’s political office or with its members.
The PDG-RDA reaffirms its unwavering commitment to the development of Guinea and the success of the current transition, aimed at a return to constitutional order and the establishment of a democratic state in the Republic of Guinea. We are attached to the values of democracy, consultation and respect for institutions in our country.
The PDG-RDA strongly condemns any individual approach which could compromise unity and cohesion within the party and reaffirms its support for the institutions in place within the framework of the transition.
The PDG-RDA wishes to clarify that it does not under any circumstances intend to pronounce or make comments on legal issues before the courts have ruled, and this, without collegial consultation of the party in accordance with its texts, its policy and his vision.
The party’s executive bureau will meet in the following hours to make a decision related to the seriousness of the situation.
The PDG-RDA calls on its members and supporters to demonstrate responsibility and solidarity in this crucial period for the future of our nation.
