Group BTS’s V collaborated with the late legendary pop artist Bing Crosby.
According to Big Hit Music on the 7th, ’White Christmas (with V of BTS)’, which contains the voices of the two people, will be released simultaneously around the world on December 6th at 2 PM.
V reinterpreted part of Bing Crosby‘s famous song ‘White Christmas’, which was released in 1942 and is still loved worldwide to this day, in his own way. It is a timeless collaboration between two icons, BTS V and Bing Crosby. It is especially special in that it is Bing Crosby’s first duet song in 47 years since collaborating with David Bowie in 1977.
This work began with V’s long-standing respect for Bing Crosby. V has consistently expressed his affection for Bing Crosby by uploading a cover video of his song ’It’s Been a Long, Long Time’ in 2022. Bing Crosby’s official channel responded by saying, “We think V will be a great jazz crooner, just like our BING.”
Bing Crosby, born in 1903 and died in 1977, was a singer and actor and was the greatest star of the 20th century on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. ‘White Christmas’ is an all-time hit carol and has been performed by many top singers, including Michael Bublé, Taylor Swift, and Katy Perry. However, this work has great meaning as a duet with Bing Crosby has never been released.
Meanwhile, V revealed his capabilities as a solo musician through his first solo album ‘Layover’ released in September of last year and the digital single ‘Friends’ (FRI(END)S) released in March of this year.

Dr. Kim: Thank you for having me! I’m thrilled to be here to discuss such a fascinating development.
Interviewer: Let’s dive right in. Big Hit Music announced that V has collaborated with Bing Crosby for a new rendition of “White Christmas.” Given that Bing Crosby passed away in 1977, how did this collaboration come to be?
Dr. Kim: It’s indeed a remarkable feat! This collaboration demonstrates the advancements in technology that allow artists to work together across time. What we’re likely seeing is a posthumous use of Crosby’s original recordings combined with V’s contemporary vocals to create a new version of this classic song.
Interviewer: That’s intriguing. It opens up many possibilities for similar collaborations. How do you believe this will impact the music industry, particularly for younger artists like V?
Dr. Kim: It certainly sets a precedent! For younger artists, it opens the door to engage with musical legends from the past, creating a bridge between generations. This can also revive interest in the original artists and their music, introducing them to new audiences.
Interviewer: Speaking of audience, BTS has a massive global following. How do you think V’s collaboration with an iconic figure like Bing Crosby will resonate with fans of both artists?
Dr. Kim: It can create an extraordinary synergetic effect. BTS’s fanbase, known as ARMY, often shows a strong appreciation for diverse music influences. They might introduce their followers to Crosby’s work, while also advocating for this new interpretation. It’s a win-win for both parties!
Interviewer: Absolutely! Now, considering V’s unique vocal style and Crosby’s classic crooning, what can we expect from this collaboration in terms of sound and artistic direction?
Dr. Kim: I anticipate a beautiful blend of modern pop sensibilities with traditional orchestration that Crosby was known for. V’s emotional depth paired with Crosby’s rich timbre could produce a hauntingly beautiful rendition that pays homage to the original while bringing something fresh and new.
