Frank Schäffer experienced probably the most successful time in the club’s history with Borussia Mönchengladbach. Now he has died.

Between 1974 and 1983, the defender played 228 Bundesliga games for Borussia. Under the coaches Udo Lattek and Hennes Weisweiler, Schäffer became German champion three times and won the UEFA Cup twice.
