Brussels (Belgium), 11/10/2024 – This Sunday, October 13, 2024, Belgium is preparing for municipal elections. A significant number of Belgian candidates of Burundian, Rwandan, Eastern DRC and Ugandan origin are running for these elections. We encourage you to support these candidates by voting for the parties that have included them on their electoral lists, whether they are left (like Ecolo Groen, PS – Voruit, PTB, Team Fouad Ahidar)of right or center (Engaged, MR), or part of coalitions (for example, the Mayor’s List). On the other hand, it is important to not support Flemish nationalist lists like Vlaams Belang and NVA, because they are not accessible to us.
The Burundian, Rwandan, Congolese and Ugandan diaspora in Belgium represents a small African community among others, such as those of Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria, Guinea, DRC Congo, Nigeria, Ghana , Cameroon, Chad, Senegal, Niger, Ivory Coast, Madagascar, Togo, Djibouti, Somalia, Ethiopia, Sierra Leone, Burkina Faso, Eritrea , etc.
Here is a list of 50 candidates recommended in your municipality for election Sunday, based on your political beliefs:
