The President of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum, assured that the secondary laws that he sent yesterday to Congress They have the objective of detailing “what does not come in the Constitution of the reform of the Judiciary“, with the objective that as of October 15 the call for the Senate of the Republic.
And he warned that, “if for any reason, the Court does not send the vacancies that are necessary for the call, the Senate will use publicly available information to make this call.”
And, according to an official letter from the minister Norma Piñapresident of the Judiciary, sent to Gerardo Fernández Noronapresident of the Senate, this began immediately with the mandates of judicial reform.
Since last September 30, the Judiciary has official lists of active and suspended judges, pending be seconded, interim, vacancies, resignations and scheduled retirements.
However, on October 2, the Plenary of the Judiciary determined the impossibility of approving and sending the lists to the Senate because the Commission for the Creation of New Bodies did not participate in the process and should analyze the information.
Another consideration was that a federal court, based in Nuevo León, granted a provisional suspension, the effect of which is that the Judiciary does not deliver that list, so it was determined to analyze the suspensions and a next session to determine if they are complied with.
Presidential initiative
Yesterday, on instructions from the president, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, the secretary of Governor, Rosa Icela Rodríguez, delivered to the Senate of the Republic, two reform initiatives to the General Law of Institutions y Electoral Proceduresand the General Law of the System of Means of Impeachment, which establish the process of election of judges, magistrates and ministers.
“The constitutional reform to Judiciary, recently approved, represents a new reality in which the three Powers of the Union They are elected by popular vote.
