A momentous occasion is upon us! This Wednesday, the first stone will be laid for the groundbreaking Campus numeria. This iconic symbol of the future, the renowned Futuroscope sphere, will be reborn as a hub dedicated to empowering learners with the skills and knowledge necessary to thrive in the digital age. The Department, as the building owner, is investing a significant €1.2 million in realizing this vision, collaborating with the SEM Patrimoniale who will contribute €1.05 million. Over the next five years, the project will receive a total investment of €11.7 million for equipment and operations, fueled largely by the France 2030 revival plan.
Campus Numeria aims to equip young minds to navigate the complexities and possibilities of the digital world, as highlighted by its director, Marie Bregeon. The core ideology is to empower students – both in middle and high school – to become responsible digital citizens. This dedication will be demonstrated through a dedicated program launched at the opening in autumn 2025. Intriguingly, the campus will also feature a space dedicated to exploring the captivating realms of human and artificial cognition, along with a dedicated area for robotic programming.
Digital Twins Take Center Stage
Reality gets a virtual twist at Campus Numeria! This innovative learning environment, nestled on the fourth floor of the LP2I, the Futuroscope Technopole’s pioneering high school, will house immersive learning experiences. These “digital twins,” as they are known, provide opportunities to simulate technical skills across a wide spectrum of fields, from industrial maintenance to assistive technologies. Director Régis Bichard and his team of educational engineers are hard at work crafting a virtual reality program designed to expose middle schoolers to the diverse world of careers.
By strategically locating the Campus Numeria within this renowned landmark, educators aim to engage a portion of the park’s impressive two million visitors. Running at full capacity, it will cater to 10,000 students participating in immersive classes and 2,000 teachers engaged in long-term professional development programs.
