The burst of two car bombs that occurred yesterday in different municipalities of Guanajuato cannot be classified as narco terrorismsaid the president Claudia Sheinbaum.
The president declined to explain why these events cannot be framed in that type of definition, but rather it will be done in her conference next Tuesday, where she will detail the meaning of terrorism and organized crime.
“It’s not that we don’t want to raise it today, but we are here mainly for the issue of housing,” responded the president, who today holds her morning conference in Cabo San Lucas, Baja California Sur.

He also announced that that day he will present a general report and progress of his public security strategy.
However, when faced with another question on the subject, the Secretary of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC), Omar García Harfuchemphasized that the explosions are related to a territorial dispute between two criminal organizations.
“This is for drugs; Terrorism has ideological, religious overtones, etc., here it is a dispute between two criminal groups to fight each other and intimidate the authority, either because a local authority is involved with some other group, or because the authority itself is fighting them.
“That is, they are not disputing more than the drug salethe sale of hydrocarbons and that are two criminal groups confronting each other,” stated the head of SSPC.
Previously, the official gave an explanation of the background they have regarding the explosion of the car bombs and stated that on October 16, the municipal police of Acámbaro recovered a tractor-trailer and a vehicle with a theft report and also secured tactical equipment from a group criminal.
There is also an arrest by the municipal authorities and there is a report that after this the director of public security receives threats, he explained.
“The third event is the first explosion that occurred at 5:10 in the morning, where there was knowledge of the fire in a police unit,” García Harfuch commented.
The second event, he indicated, occurred at 6:25 in the morning with the explosion of a car bomb outside the Ministry of Public Security.
He added that the Attorney General’s Office (FGR) is already working to determine what type of explosives.
He attributed the events to a dispute that “a very local cartel from Guanajuato” has with the Jalisco Nueva Generación Cartel.
About the confrontation in Tecpan de GaleanaGuerrero, where 17 alleged criminals died, 11 were arrested, two municipal police officers died and four were injured, García Harfuch also reported on the events.
He showed the video showing a caravan of cars with members of a criminal group opening fire on a municipal police base on a highway, and then heading to Tecpan in search of confronting their rivals.
“The second event occurs at 6:15 in the morning where there is an attack on another base that arrived in support, there the arrest of six aggressors was achieved and 15 aggressors lose, later there is a third attack on military personnel.
“There are several attacks that military personnel receive (…) right now, we are also investigating all the vehicles, all of them were secured by the Mexican Army. This group, he noted, is identified as the New People Group; However, this incursion, he clarified, was not to attack elements of the Mexican armybut to its rivals group known as Los Granadoswho were in Tecpan de Galeana, “which has been in that area for many years.”
The secretary emphasized that the federal government will focus on ensuring that there is no impunity in these two events that occurred in Guanajuato y Guerrero.
