BOLZANO. A major mountain rescue exercise took place at Carabinieri alpine training centre of Selva di Val Gardena. Specialized personnel from the Carabinieri Center and the Financial Police participated, in particular from the Bolzano Air Section, the SAGF of Vipiteno and the SAGF of Silandro.

The objective – explains a note from the Carabinieri – was to promote and strengthen the synergy between the different rescue components, improving operational techniques and communication during mountain rescue operations, in an environment characterized by unique and complex challenges , just like that of the Dolomites.

And UH169 helicopter of the Air Section of the Guardia di Finanza of Bolzano was used to simulate rescue operations, providing fundamental air support for the evacuation and rescue of people in difficulty. “Through this exercise, declared the Colonel Nicola Bianchi – Commander of the CC Alpine Training Center, all the personnel involved had the opportunity to refine their skills, test their equipment in realistic scenarios, perfecting their mutual knowledge of the technical capabilities of the specialists of the two administrations. The success of the operation demonstrates the importance of cooperation between the various rescue forces, who work tirelessly to ensure the safety of mountain enthusiasts and the local population.”

The Colonel Giuseppe DinoiProvincial Commander of the Bolzano Financial Police, underlines how “the exercise represented a precious opportunity to consolidate and strengthen collaboration between the different components of mountain rescue. Our priority objective was to further refine the operational techniques and improve communication between the teams, in order to guarantee a increasingly timely and effective intervention in emergency situations in mountain environments. The Sagf rescuers, with their specialization in interventions on impervious terrain and in extreme climatic conditions, have once again demonstrated the excellence of their technical and professional skills. The Dolomiteswith their unique characteristics, pose significant challenges and constantly push us to improve our skills, to ensure the safety of all those who frequent these wonderful but extremely challenging environments.”
