BOLZANO. The provincial commander of the Carabinieri in Alto Adige, colonel Bolzano“>Raffaele Rivolaafter three years he leaves Bolzano for Rome, where he will take on the role of head of the international cooperation office of the General Command of the Army.
The geopolitical expert, who boasts long professional experience at an international level, confessed mixed feelings when meeting reporters: the new professional challenge on the one hand and the attachment to the territory he leaves behind on the other.
Rivola highlighted the high civic sense of South Tyroleans and the close collaboration with the world of volunteering, from the White and Red Cross to the volunteer firefighters. He also emphasized the lower permeability of organized crime in South Tyrol due to the family structures of companies.
The colonel recalled the constant commitment of the force in the area also to combat juvenile delinquency, a topic that is deeply felt by citizens. Finally, he mentioned the San Candido massacre last August, when a man killed his father and a neighbor, as the most complex moment of his command in Alto Adige. “San Candido was full of tourists and in a few moments I had to make delicate decisions such as the intervention of the special forces,” said Rivola.
