During the 9 months of the current Iranian year (March 20-December 20, 2024), cargo transportation on the Arak Regional Railway to various parts of Iran increased by 18% compared to the same period last year (March 21-December 21, 2023).
As reported by Day.Az, Said Torki, General Director of the Arak Railway Department of Iran, told local media about this.
According to him, in 9 months, the Arak Regional Railway Administration transported 1.07 million tons of cargo to various regions of the country.
Torquay added that during the 9-month period, the main items transported were fuel oil, low sulfur fuel oil, polyethylene, chemicals and wheat.
According to him, over 9 months, the Arak Railway Department transported 4.14 thousand tons of cargo for export. This is 6% more than in the same period last year.
A representative of the department noted that over 9 months, cargo transportation amounted to 75.2 million ton-kilometers. This is 47% more than in the same period last year.
It should be noted that the Arak Regional Railway Administration of Iran operates 21 stations in 5 provinces (Qom, Central, Lorestan, Hamadan and Kermanshah), the total length of these railways is 545 kilometers.
