In other markets, the service has long been old hat. Aldi Nord now also offers cash withdrawals. This should be possible from this purchase value.
Aldi Nord now allows its customers to withdraw cash in 2,200 branches. “This service is a real relief, especially in regions where bank branches and ATMs are rare,” the company explained on Monday in Essen. Withdrawals are therefore possible from a purchase value of one euro.
According to the information, money can be withdrawn per purchase in ten euro increments up to a maximum amount of 200 euros. “All Maestro and V-Pay Girocards, debit cards as well as Master and Visa credit cards are accepted,” said Aldi. The offer is an important step “to make access to cash easier, especially in underserved areas.”
Aldi had previously tested the concept in three regions. The offer is now available in all 2,200 Aldi branches in western, northern and eastern Germany. Cash withdrawals have been possible for some time at other retailers. In some cases, however, a minimum purchase value of 20 euros is required; at other supermarkets this is five or ten euros.
