Nilambur – Tamalakat Naushad, a native of Batheri, who is on remand in the case of the kidnapping and murder of Shaba Sharif, a traditional healer in Mysuru, has been taken into police custody as part of the investigation into the double murder case in Abu Dhabi. On the request of Nilambur DySP Saju K. Abraham, who is investigating the case, Nilambur 1st Class Judicial Magistrate KK Krishnan released the child in custody for 3 days.
On March 5, 2020, expatriate businessman Tattammaparampil Harris of Kozhikode, East Malayamma, and employee Densi Anthony, a native of Chalakudy, were killed in a flat in Abu Dhabi. Harris was a business partner of Nilambur Mukatta Kaipancheri Shaibin Ashraf, the main accused in the Shaba Sharif murder case. The co-accused in the Sharif murder case, including Naushad, gave a statement to the police during interrogation that they came to Abu Dhabi and killed Harris and Dency on Shaib’s instructions.
According to Shaibin’s plan, after strangulating Denzi, cutting the arm vein, Harris created fake evidence and sneaked out of the flat. Harris’ body was found bleeding in the bathtub. Abu Dhabi Police closed the case with the conclusion that Harris took his own life by killing Dency based on circumstantial evidence. Based on the new statements, the police registered a separate case in the death of Harris and Dency. The remains of both were exhumed and post-mortem was conducted. Chemical test results are not available.
Meanwhile, the High Court heard the plea of Haris’ mother Sarabi and sister Harifa seeking a CBI probe into the case. Judgment will be given on 23rd.
The High Court rejected the bail plea of Shaib, who is on remand in the Viyyur Central Jail in the Sharif murder case. Shaibin, through a lawyer, applied to the Magistrate’s Court to appoint a Muktyar agent to sell 60 cents of land and buildings in his name at Batheri.
Naushad was interrogated in detail under the leadership of DySP Saju K. Abraham. Naushad is expressing mental disturbance following the indication that the investigation of the double murder case will be left to the CBI. The accused in lockup is under police surveillance.
