CD Projektthe developer studio famous for franchises like The Witcher y Cyberpunk 2077, denied recent rumors of a possible purchase by Sony Interactive (PlayStation). This was confirmed by Adam Kiciński, CEO of the study.
«CD Projekt is not for sale. What we’ve been saying over the years. We want to remain independent. We have, I think, an excellent strategy. It’s not easy to execute, for sure, but it’s very exciting to go our own way. So it’s just a rumor.”, declared Kiciński in a presentation to his investors on the scope of the first quarter of 2023.
Still, these rumors come from a good source; the same one that had advanced the purchase of Bungie —the developers of Destiny— by Sony; something that few expected would happen knowing the firm independent position of the studio.
