CDMX Congress endorses Energy Reform

With 39 votes in favor, 17 against and zero abstentions, the Mexico City Congress in its character Permanent Constituentapproved the minutes sent by the Senate of the Republic about the reform constitutional in matters energy.

“This Congress has deliberated and debated this important minute regarding the energy sovereignty of the Mexican State and we have approved this constitutional reform,” mentioned the president of the board of directors, Martha Ávila.

In this regard, he assured that the reform will allow transcendental changes in the energy sector, with the aim of strengthening state regulation of the electrical system and strategic companies.

In this way, the local congress declared approved the minute with the draft decree reforming the fifth paragraph of the article 25the sixth and seventh paragraphs of the article 27 and the fourth paragraph of article 28 of the political constitution of the United Mexican States regarding strategic areas and companies.

After being approved in the local Congress, the minutes will be sent to the Senate and Chamber of Deputies of the Congress of the Unionfor the corresponding constitutional and legal effects.
