Colombo: In the fifth ODI (SL vs AUS 5th ODI), Australia bowled out Sri Lanka. Batting first, Sri Lanka were bowled out for 160 in 43.1 overs. Chamika Karunaratne (Pramod Madushan) and Chamika Karunaratne (Pramod Madushan) saved the hosts from losing eight wickets for 85 runs in the ninth over. Chamika smashed a fifty (75 off 75 balls). For Australia, Hazlewood, Quinoman and Cummins took two wickets each.

Charitha Asalanka was run out by Maxwell and Quinoman at 14. Third wicket-keeper Kushal Mendis tried to fight but was not in the Aussies. Mendis had 26 off 40 balls when Maxi was dismissed.
Danith Wellalage (2 off 4 balls), skipper Dashun Shanaka (1 off 3 balls) and Jeffrey Wanderers (4 off 23 balls) returned to help Sri Lanka 85-8 in 24.2 overs. But Chamika Karunaratne VIII and Pramod Madushan VIII put up an unexpected fight for the ninth wicket. Both extended the match from the 25th over to the 42nd over. Pramod, who scored 15 off 52 balls, was caught by Cameron Green in the first ball of the 42nd over. The Sri Lankan innings ended with Cummins returning Karunaratne (75 off 75 balls) in the space of one over. This is Karunaratne’s first ODI fifty.
