Angry Chickz Sets Sights on Albuquerque Expansion, Announces 25-Unit Deal

A rapidly growing Nashville-style chicken chain, Angry Chickz, is targeting Albuquerque as a key market for expansion, marking its first foray into New Mexico. The company recently finalized a 25-unit development agreement poised to bring its signature hot fried chicken and mac and cheese to cities across Texas and New Mexico over the next five years.

New Mexico’s First Angry Chickz Location

Albuquerque stands out as the sole New Mexico city included in this ambitious franchise deal – the largest in the brand’s history to date. A company representative described the move as “a major step” for Angry Chickz, acknowledging years of demand from fans in the region. “We’ve been hearing from fans in Texas and New Mexico for years asking us to come to their community, and now we’ve found the right partners to make it happen,” the representative stated.

The identity of the franchisee remains confidential, according to a company spokesperson.

Rapid Growth and Strategic Expansion

Founded in California in 2018, Angry Chickz has quickly expanded its footprint to 33 locations across California, Nevada, and Arizona. The first of the 25 new restaurants outlined in the recent agreement is expected to open later this year, though the specific location remains undisclosed.

While the exact number of Angry Chickz restaurants planned for Albuquerque is currently unknown, the chain anticipates making its debut in the city within 12 to 18 months.

Why Albuquerque?

According to the company, Albuquerque presents a compelling opportunity for growth. “Albuquerque offers strong unit economics, a value-driven dining culture, and less fast-casual saturation which make it a smart, scalable market expansion,” a spokesperson explained. The chain is actively searching for suitable real estate locations within the city.

Looking Ahead

The expansion into Albuquerque signals a continued period of growth for Angry Chickz as it seeks to capitalize on the popularity of Nashville-style hot chicken. The company is currently evaluating potential locations and expects to provide further updates on its Albuquerque plans in the coming months.
