China rejects the UK’s baseless accusations of hacker attacks and calls for an end to the spread of false information. This was stated at a briefing by the official representative of the Chinese Foreign Ministry Lin Jian, Day.Az reports with reference to TASS.

“China has always acted resolutely in suppressing all types of malicious activities in cyberspace in accordance with the law. It advocates that all countries work together to tackle this complex and sensitive issue, monitoring cyber attacks through dialogue and cooperation, and providing sufficient and objective evidence to slander other countries without a factual basis,” said a Chinese Foreign Ministry official.

He also called not to politicize cybersecurity issues and to stop spreading false and unsubstantiated accusations.

Earlier, the UK government announced its intention to impose sanctions on China due to the fact that hackers supported by it, according to London, carried out cyber attacks against British parliamentarians. This was reported by Sky News channel, citing sources.

According to The Sunday Times, the hackers affected former Conservative Party leader Iain Duncan Smith, ex-chairman of the House of Commons Home Affairs Committee Tim Laughton, House of Lords member David Elton and Scottish National Party MP Stuart MacDonald. Sky News indicated that United Kingdom Deputy Prime Minister Oliver Dowden had asked Speaker of the House of Commons Lindsay Hoyle to allow him to make a statement on China on 25 March.
