According to reports, marriages and registrations in China have fallen to a 36-year low
In the last year 2021, the number of marriages has decreased below 80 lakhs. This is less than the situation in 1986, the Chinese government said.

While China is already facing the problem of declining population, now the number of people getting married has created a new headache for the government. Most of the younger generation in China prefer “late marriage”.
This has created the problem of underpopulation in China. According to economists, China’s population growth will reach negative territory by 2025, which is dangerous for the economy. This means that by 2025, China’s population growth will go into negative territory.
According to civil affairs statistics in China, only 76.40 lakh people registered marriages last year across China in 2021. Marriage registrations are down 6.1 percent from 2020. Marriage registrations have fallen for the 8th year in a row.

35.3% of people in the age group of 25 to 29 get married, this number has increased by only 0.4 percentage points from last year.
In China, getting married at an older age is becoming a trend. Early marriage is often disliked. As the population declines, people are not allowed to have 3 children.
