UN report on Uyghur Muslim atrocities in China’s Xinjiang region The other day, the Uyghur tribunal in the UK released its report on the matter. The United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) has said it will release its report soon after China’s response to the allegations. According to reports, the UN report is causing a headache for China.

Reuters news agency reports that a UN report underscores the Chinese government’s human rights abuses against Uyghur Muslims in the Xinjiang region. UN Human Rights Council spokesman Rupert Colville said Uyghurs were being illegally imprisoned, forced to work and brutally tortured. The spokesman said Human Rights Commissioner Michelle Bachelet would release the report in a matter of weeks.

The UN Human Rights Council has been urging since 2018 to allow visits to the region to investigate China’s atrocities against Uyghurs and other Muslim communities. China has rejected all requests from Human Rights Commissioner Michelle Bachelet. A committee spokesman said no progress had been made. Meanwhile, the Chinese foreign ministry spokesman reiterated that the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights could visit China, but would not allow prejudicial investigations, as the United States and Western nations have said.

A tribunal headed by a British NGO has released a report on China’s atrocities against Uyghur Muslims. The report described China’s genocide in Xinjiang. The tribunal report said that China was treating Uyghur Muslims cruelly and that President Xi Jinping was responsible. A spokesman for the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva said the tribunal’s report had released a number of highlights about human rights abuses in China, many of which had been proven during their investigation.

The report comes after an independent tribunal convened by a voluntary organization in Westminster, London. However, China’s official response was that they were the only actors in the drama being staged by Western countries to blackmail China. China has also called on Britain to suspend the tribunal.

For decades, China has been wreaking havoc in Xinjiang province, which has a large Uighur and Kazakh Muslim population. Many people are being held in prisons in the region because of China’s policy of enforcing anti-terrorism laws, confining people and banning everything related to the faith.
