With him began the success story of the legendary Pixar Studios: Captain Buzz Lightyear – Star Command!
Together with toy cowboy Woody, the action figure formed an unforgettable dream team in the animation classic “Toy Story” (1995), the very first completely computer-animated movie.

Since then, Pixar has lined up hit after hit, and “Toy Story” alone has now made four films. Now Pixar and Disney are bringing back Buzz Lightyear, but without his plastic friends. The new film “Lightyear” is all about the space hero. To infinity and much further!

As is so often the case in spin-offs, the story of the origin of Buzz is told. So we finally get to see those star adventures with which the daring Space Ranger always shines in front of Woody and Co. In the first “Toy Story”, Buzz wasn’t even aware that he was a toy at all …
So are the experiences in the “Lightyear” trailer just fake or do they really come from his memory? Disney has already donated its own film to Buzz: Almost 22 years ago, the cartoon offshoot “Captain Buzz Lightyear – Star Command – The Adventure Begins” came straight onto the video cassette.
The biggest excitement, however: Buzz can be seen in the trailer for the new Pixar blockbuster for the first time without a helmet and with hair! This has never happened before! Also new: Lightyear is no longer spoken of as “Listen who’s hammering” star Tim Allen (68), but by none other than “Captain America” Chris Evans (40).
