The city has been holding an Entrepreneur’s Day event every October to boost the morale of entrepreneurs and create a conducive environment for doing business in accordance with the ‘Chungju City Ordinance on Treating Entrepreneurs and Promoting Corporate Activities’.
Meanwhile, Chungju City announced on the 22nd that it has completed the feasibility study on the citizens’ golf course, which had been conducted for the past year. In order to create a public golf course that can be used at a low price through a feasibility study for a citizen golf course, the city reviewed the location conditions, economic feasibility, and business feasibility of creating a golf course on the city-owned site in Oncheon-ri, Suan-myeon (former ski resort site) and Changdong-ri, Jungangtap-myeon. come.
As a result of the feasibility study through this service, it was revealed that both sites met the locational and economic feasibility analysis criteria for creating a 9-hole golf course.
By reviewing legal matters such as ecological natural map, slope, and cultural heritage protection zones, we analyzed whether the land is available for development, and whether the cost-benefit ratio and internal rate of return are met when operating the golf course at the lowest level in the country for Chungju citizens. , the results showed that it was possible to create a citizen golf course (9 holes) by meeting all economic feasibility criteria.
Last January, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced the first basic plan for sports promotion to promote the creation of 30 public golf courses by investing 25 billion won per site by 2027 to popularize golf, resolving the problem of excessive usage fees due to imbalance in supply and demand of golf courses. To this end, the plan is to promote a public golf course using idle local government land.
Based on the results of the service, the city plans to respond to the government’s public golf course expansion contest project that can provide support for the cost of creating a golf course at the central tower site.
However, in the case of the Suanbo site, more than 68% of the land is owned by the Korea Forest Service, so consultation with the Korea Forest Service is necessary for development. However, the Korea Forest Service is in the position of requesting the exchange of city forests appropriate for forestry projects when selling or using the land. The cost of purchasing private land has also increased significantly, making it difficult to secure land.
In the future, if the situation of the Forest Service and private land owners changes, the city plans to monitor development conditions and strive to develop it in a variety of ways, such as attracting private investment.
A city official said, “Through this service, we will actively respond to future public golf course competition projects as the feasibility of the citizen golf course is secured and the government’s policy to popularize golf is in line with the purpose of the citizen golf course.”
