Chungju Witham General Hospital, an integrated medical center in the central region, was built on the site of the old Suanbo Baseball Stadium, and the construction of Suanbo Baseball Stadium was promoted to expand the baseball facilities that were lacking. It was created with an investment of 9.2 billion won over 6 years from 2019 to 2024. .
Suanbo Baseball Stadium is located at 34 Mireuksonggye-ro next to Suanbo Sports Park. The size is 95m to the left and right fences and 115m to the center fence, with a 25m net infield fence, 15m outfield, artificial turf with shock absorbing pad, and lighting facilities. It is equipped with velocity measuring instruments, etc., so baseball players can enjoy the game in a safe and comfortable environment.
A city official said, “The creation of Suanbo Baseball Stadium is expected to contribute to revitalizing the local economy and hot spring tourism by attracting field training and various competitions in connection with Suanbo Sports Park.”
In addition, Suanbo Baseball Stadium can be used through Chungju City’s integrated reservation system, and is scheduled to be operated by the Baseball Association in 2025.
Meanwhile, Chungju City announced that it will hold the ‘Chungju Agricultural Products Direct Trade Fair’ at Tangeum Park for three days from October 18th to 20th.
According to the city, the name of the ‘Chungju Seed Brand Festival’, which was held every year, was changed to ‘Chungju Seed Agricultural Products Direct Trade Fair’ this year, promoting the integrated agricultural product brand “Chungju Seed” and intuitively emphasizing that it is a market event for direct trading of local agricultural products. He said that he would increase citizen interest and encourage participation.
In particular, this event is expected to reduce the budget and create a synergy effect to increase consumption of local agricultural products by integrating seven individual events in Chungju City, including the Eco-Friendly Energy Festival, Disaster Safety Experience Center, and Dog Sports Day.
