The Minister of Health Guillermo Alfonso Jaramillo was in charge of receiving the donation that consists of 101 biomedical equipment valued at $7,954 million pesos.

These state-of-the-art equipment, including vital signs monitorsdefibrillators and ultrasound machines, will benefit 16 State Social Entities (ESE) located in different departments of the country.

The delivery of this equipment represents a significant advance in improving capacity response and the reach of medical services, especially in regions such as Guaviare, Córdoba, Sucre, Quindío, Caquetá, Guainía, Meta, Bolívar, Santander and Putumayo.

In addition to the donation of equipment, the project includes a training component to ensure that health personnel are properly prepared to manage and use these biomedical resources effectively.

Japan’s ambassador to Colombia, Takasugi Masahiro, highlighted Japan’s commitment to global health and healthcare in Colombia, which has spanned more than 30 years, covering more than 28 departments of the country.

For his part, the Minister of Health highlighted that this donation not only strengthens the ties of cooperation between both nations, but also contributes significantly to strengthening the public hospital network and improving medical care for the Colombian population.

Present at the delivery ceremony were representatives of the International Cooperation Agency (APC), INVIMA, the Foreign Ministry and managers of some beneficiary State Social Entities, who have worked together to carry out this project.

This donation is part of a broader cooperation project, which a year ago included the delivery of 7 X-ray equipment valued at 3.5 million dollars. For the second half of this year, the completion of the final stage of the project is expected, which will consist of strengthening the infrastructure of the National Institute of Health.
