Within the framework of the analysis of the Work Report of the President of the Republic, various appearances by government officials were held to discuss and evaluate the efforts carried out in the last period.

Roxana Sierra, deputy director of the National Public Procurement Service, announced the progress and challenges in the implementation of transparent and efficient contracting processes, as well as the strategies adopted to improve the competitiveness and participation of small and medium-sized companies in public contracting.

He stressed that these strategies not only aim at efficiency and transparency in public procurement, but also seek to contribute significantly to the sustainable development of the country. “Our goal is for public procurement to be an engine of sustainable development, supporting practices that benefit both the economy, the environment and society as a whole,” he said.

Gabriel Astudillo, technical undersecretary of Ecuador Grows Without Child Malnutrition, reported on the actions taken to combat child malnutrition. His presentation included data on the reduction of malnutrition rates, the food and health programs implemented, and collaborations with international organizations to strengthen these efforts.

Julieta Herrería, coordinator of Planning and Strategic Management of the National Secretariat for Risk Management, explained the strategies and actions carried out to manage and mitigate natural and anthropogenic risks in the country. He stressed the importance of prevention and community education in risk reduction and effective response to emergencies and disasters.

Furthermore, he emphasized the importance of the correlation between management indicators and the actions taken. “Our goal is to ensure that each action is backed by concrete data that demonstrates its impact and effectiveness,” he said.

Finally, Cecilia Vargas, delegate of Public-Private Investment, explained that the institution has rigorously complied with the established indicators, including the National Environment Index for Public-Private Partnerships (INEAP). He stressed that “this achievement is part of the impact objective and annual results within the National Plan for New Ecuador 2024-2025.”
